1.Who this policy covers
This policy covers two groups of people:
- Merchants, who create an account and a store on Kazalog.
- Shoppers, who visit a store on Kazalog. Shoppers do not create accounts.
It applies alongside our Terms of Service.
2.Data we collect from merchants
- Account details: your name, email address, mobile number and password. We store the password hashed, never in readable form.
- Store details: store name and link, logo, description, brand color, WhatsApp number and social media links.
- Catalog: your categories, products, prices, banners and images.
- Billing records: your plan, payment amounts, dates and status. Card details are entered on Paymob’s payment page and are never stored by Kazalog.
- Security data: the IP address and browser of each signed-in session, used to keep your account safe and to limit abuse such as repeated login attempts.
3.Data about shoppers
Shoppers never need an account, and we do not ask them for personal data.
- Cart: the cart is saved only in the shopper’s own browser. It is not sent to Kazalog.
- Visit statistics: we count store visits, product views and WhatsApp order clicks so merchants can see how their store performs. To avoid counting one visit twice, we use a code built from the IP address and browser that changes every day. We do not store the IP address itself, and we do not use this code to identify anyone.
- Orders: when a shopper sends an order, the message goes directly from their phone to the merchant on WhatsApp. Kazalog does not receive the order’s contents, the shopper’s name or their notes.
Once an order reaches the merchant on WhatsApp, the merchant is responsible for the data it contains.
4.How we use data
- To create your account, run your store and show it to customers.
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To send service emails, such as email verification, password reset links, payment receipts and important notices.
- To process subscription payments.
- To show you statistics about your store.
- To answer your support requests and to prevent fraud and abuse.
Kazalog does not sell personal data and does not use it for advertising.
7.How long we keep data
- We keep your account and store data for as long as your account is open.
- When you delete your store, we delete its products, categories, banners and images.
- Individual visit records are deleted after 90 days. Only daily totals are kept.
- We keep billing records for as long as the law requires.
- Backups are deleted automatically within 30 days.
8.How we protect data
All connections to Kazalog are encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, access to our systems is restricted, and login attempts are rate limited. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
9.Your rights
Under Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020), you have the right to:
- Know what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it.
- Correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete your data.
- Object to how we process your data.
You can view and edit most of your data yourself in your dashboard’s Settings. For anything else, email us at support@kazalog.com. Shoppers who want to ask about an order should contact the merchant directly, since Kazalog does not receive order contents.
10.Children
Merchant accounts are not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
11.Processing outside Egypt
Some of our service providers may process data outside Egypt. When they do, we take reasonable steps to make sure your data stays protected as this policy and the law require.
12.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Kazalog changes. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in your dashboard before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when the policy last changed.
